Hello! I hope you’re doing well. In this post I’ll talk a bit about the release of my game Apparatus: Exanimus, as well as what I’m going to be moving onto next.

Apparatus: Exanimus #

I’ve released my first game, Apparatus: Exanimus, on Steam!

In advance of the launch I sent some keys out to some content creators, which resulted in a lot of entertaining vods to watch. When I was able to catch these streams it was also a lot of fun to heckle streamers in their chat if they failed a jump or something. Good stuff!

Watching these gave me a few more bugs to fix, as well as the playtesters too. But then it was time to launch!

The sales so far have already exceeded my expectations, seeing as this was originally a 1 month game jam game that I took a few extra months to polish up. While it’s not by any means enough money to quit my other work engagements and make games full time, I will now be able to buy around 200 extra pints of beer, and who could complain about that?

It has also seemingly been well-received, as I have seen a few very generous reviews of it. Not bad for ’the game for no-one'.

If the game continues to sell well and people carry on seemingly enjoying it, I have an idea for a DLC or content update that I think would be cool—we’ll see!

Next up #

Now, back to working towards The Charity Shop’s Steam release. I’ve learned a bunch of stuff from my release of Apparatus which I think is going to make this fairly smooth sailing.

I’m going to aim for a March 2026 release, with a demo appearing in Steam Next Fest in February 2026. As always, we’ll see.

Then it’s back to Vignettes: The Dream City. Big things on the horizon!

I’m also still supporting Apparatus, of course. Fixing any bugs and issues that have come up—I’ve already had to patch the game about 4 times!

That’s pretty much it for this installment.

Fare-thee-well, internet traveller…
